A Daily Routine that Supports the Whole Child

We offer a predictable rhythm, not a rigid schedule. This allows us to follow the children’s interests while still honoring the importance of routines. Our preschool day includes:

  • Circle time with songs, stories, and group discussion
  • Learning centers and small group activities
  • Outdoor play twice daily, rain or shine
  • Family-style meals and snacks
  • Afternoon free play and creative exploration
  • Rest/quiet time for recharging

This structure helps children feel safe, while also giving them freedom to engage deeply with materials, peers, and ideas.

Experience-Based Curriculum with Monthly Themes

We use the Experience Early Learning™ curriculum as a framework, expanding it with teacher-led and child-inspired extensions. Our monthly themes build literacy, early math, motor skills, and cognitive development through:

  • Storytelling and song
  • Thematic art projects
  • Science and sensory exploration
  • Dramatic play and building
  • Group collaboration and problem solving

From building block castles to painting seasonal landscapes, every activity is designed to help your child learn through play and develop foundational skills that support school success.

A Play-Based Philosophy Rooted in Research

We believe that play is the work of childhood. Our classroom is intentionally set up with distinct, rotating centers that may include:

  • A cozy library and writing station
  • A dramatic play area that changes with the seasons
  • A block and STEM center for building and experimenting
  • A sensory table for hands-on discovery
  • An open art studio for creativity without limits
  • An indoor stage for movement, dancing, and performance

This approach not only supports learning, but nurtures executive function, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of discovery.

Social-Emotional Learning and Conscious Discipline

Social-emotional development is a cornerstone of our preschool program. We use Conscious Discipline® to help children build emotional awareness, empathy, and community values like kindness, responsibility, and respect.
In the Preschool Room, we focus on:

  • Teaching emotional vocabulary and self-regulation tools
  • Peer conflict resolution with teacher-guided support
  • “Safe Spaces” where children can calm down and reflect
  • Classroom jobs and shared responsibilities to foster cooperation
  • Celebrating helpful, kind behaviors

We approach every child with connection first—guiding them to grow socially and emotionally in age-appropriate ways.

Indoor & Outdoor Classrooms That Evolve With Your Child

Our 1,500 sq. ft. classroom is ever-changing, based on the children’s interests, seasons, and classroom themes. Likewise, our outdoor learning space transforms throughout the year—offering water play in summer, leaf collecting in fall, and imaginative adventures year-round.
We allow long periods of uninterrupted play to support deep engagement and creative thinking. Transitions are kept to a minimum so children can truly settle into meaningful learning and discovery.

No Pressure Potty Policy

Preschoolers are not required to be fully potty trained to join this class. We support each child’s unique timeline with compassion, consistency, and open communication. Accidents are handled without shame, and we work with families on plans that feel respectful and empowering. Pull-ups are fine if needed!

Meals and Communication

We provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack at no additional cost. Our menus are posted weekly, and we accommodate allergies and dietary needs when possible. Teachers share highlights of your child’s day at pick-up, and we’re always available for conversations, collaboration, or questions.
